About

David Jefferis has created the English Eye to reflect England and Englishness.

Says David, “The English Eye represents a creative ‘Third Age’ for me. The first was spent in London, working in the world of Fleet Street journalism, using pen and ink to create infographics for widely published national newspapers and magazines.

“My second age was spent largely in educational publishing, designing and writing sci-tech books for respected names such as Dorling Kindersley, Kingfisher, and Usborne in the UK, Crabtree and Scholastic in North America, plus dozens of foreign-language editions.

David's work tools have changed dramatically over the years: "...Today I make books using iPhone, Mac and iPad as well as traditional media such as inks, paints, and pencils. I used all of these on a research expedition to investigate a certain Scottish legend, the Loch Ness Monster.

Now David continues to balance his interest in the arts and sciences (and of course, his love of England, particularly the shire counties) all coming together with various on- and offline projects and publications.
